I confirm the first issue on my Intrepid ! It works as expected on a tty but does not work into my Gnome session. Please note the reisub combination works well on my Debian Lenny with the Openbox window manager... Even if I change the key bindings thanks to gnome-keybinding- properties (and I disabled Compiz) in order to avoid any overwritting of the SysRq function (the screenshot feature is almost unuseful for sysadmins !), reisub does NOT work !! Can someone reproduce this bug on the following systems ? - Kubuntu (to find out if this bug is related to Gnome) - Debian Stable with Gnome (to find out if this bug is Ubuntu specific) - Fedora/OpenSuSE/Mandriva... (to know if this bug is Debian-based specific) Since I am definitively not aware of all the layers involved in this action, I am maybe wrong, but I consider this as a real bug. I am having the same issue on a Thinkpad R52 running Intrepid. REISUB brings up multiple screenshot windows under X, but works fine on TTY. My /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq is set to 1. In my case it is the up-key that acts as printscreen. This means that I can actually not use the up-key at all. Is this on a notebook computer? Often, you have to press the function key in conjunction with print-screen and alt to get the sysrq function. Check your keyboard closely and report back.
