[Bug 27615] Re: [dapper] The computer doesn't switch off automatically

2008-01-07 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Hardy Heron Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated
version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron
Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ .
You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you
can, please verify if this bug still exists or not and report back your
results. General information regarding the release can also be found
here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/hardy/alpha2 . Thanks!

2008-01-05 Thread Calimarno
Sorry for the late answer.
I attached the output of the command with Fluxbuntu Gutsy (kernel 2.6.22-14)
and the kernel option "acpi=force".
Feel free to reopen this bug if the information provided are sufficient.

2007-08-23 Thread Calimarno
I'm actually running xubuntu feisty on the 600X and the automatic power
off still doesn't work. I tried both with and without "acpi=off" and I
found no way to make it work.

I have since moved that laptop to Debian Etch. The automatic power off
works fine with Etch.

[Bug 27615] Re: [dapper] The computer doesn't switch off automatically

2007-08-22 Thread trollord
You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you while
using a more recent distribution? For 600X it should afaik work at
Feisty already, but the 600X got still acpi updates to even the kernel
that is going to Gutsy. Thanks in advance.

Yes the suspend/hibernate functions work.
The last log statements are:

Will now halt
md: stopping all md devices.
Shutdown:hda
Power down.

Then nothing. I have to use power switch to turn off.
