Public bug reported:

when booting the live cd and selecting an option, the "loading linux
kernel" message is no longer shown.

seeing as its still like that in the beta release, i think it was
probably intentional

however, is this a really good idea? the message is immediate feedback
that your keystroke registered. many people would interpret the message
not being displayed as lag or something. or maybe that they didnt press
the key on the keyboard all the way. anyway, the message and loading bar
gives you immediate confirmation that its doing something, so reconsider
whether you really need to remove the message anyway. (why _did_ you
remove it in the first place?)

if this is a bug, then never mind. i guess its just another thing to fix
