[Bug 279100] Re: Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi)
Hi all, I am suffering the same issue with TDMA-1 my sytem works fine, but with HDMI-1 no. I f I boot without the HDMI cable connected, the system boot as TDMS and if I plug the cable my projector works great. Once I reboot with the cable, I get the HDMI-1 and the the projector shows two images. Did you find the solution? Tried to add Option "ForceSDVODetect" "True" under device section but it did not do any change. [Bug 279100] Re: Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi)
[This is an automatic notice.] We'd like to forward your bug upstream, however upstream requires that you first test it against their newer driver code. To save you the effort of building the driver from source, we've built packages for the driver and its new dependencies. So you have a couple options: 1. Download and test .debs for intrepid, from: https://edge.launchpad.net/~intel-gfx-testing/+archive -or- 2. Download and test the Jaunty alpha-2 (or newer) Live CD, (which includes a beta of the new xserver 1.6 as well). See http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/9.04/ for ISOs Thanks ahead of time! You can simply reply to this email to report your findings. P.S., if you wish to forward your bug upstream yourself, please follow these directions to do so: http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html -- Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279100 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 279100] Re: Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi)
Confirm also this issue with Sony KDF-50E2010 and GA-G33M-S2H (connected via HDMI-HDMI). If cable is connected to Sony TV, display is connected to HDMI-1 interface and can't get any picture to TV. Only working workaround is to connect cable first to normal LCD-monitor and when system is up-n-running then connect HDMI-1 cable to Sony TV. With this workaround display is connected via TMDS-1. So booting and logging in with no cables attached doesn't help you? That's odd, cause after I became consequent on not booting with the cables plugged in, I've had no problems. [Bug 279100] Re: Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi)
Same problem here after upgrading from hardy to intrepid. Asus P5E-VM motherboard with Intel G35 graphics hooked up by straight HDMI to a Panasonic TC32VX700 LCD TV. TMDS-1 used to be recognized by default and worked fine, but now the digital output is recognized as HDMI-1, and monitor settings that used to work as gathered directly from the LCD TV or as set by custom modelines now give a black screen or a screen exactly like the jpg attached by junior - split, with pixels that look like timings are all messed up. No combination of unplugging/rebooting will restore TMDS-1 from HDMI-1, or fix the picture. xrandr shows the same thing, HDMI-1 and VGA instead of TMDS-1 and VGA. The TV looked s good with hardy, and now the setup's useless - I've played with xrandr and my xorg.conf for hours, very frustrating for this relative noob. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/19268200/Xorg.0.log -- Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279100 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 279100] Re: Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi)
** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg Connecting a 720p tv to laptop using xrandr (and only having output on tv, no virtual size) can result in split view on tv (see picture) EDIT: This only happens when the connector is "HDMI-1" instead of "TMDS-1" (wich works fine) I don't know why, or how to change it, but reboots seems to sometimes change it (not only x restart) I disabled HDMI-1 in xorg.conf, hoping that would force TMDS-1, but it didn't. As you can see from the xrandr --verbose logs, in the non working one it doesn't look like the monitor is connected at all (if I change xorg.conf back to original, it will show that HDMI-1 is connected). I've also added a log when the monitor is connected correctly. I've also added: Section "Monitor" Identifier "TMDS-1" Option "Enable" "true" EndSection Still TMDS-1 doesn't show up in xrandr after restarting x + It may seem that this only occurs when booting with hdmi cable connected + (As described in bug #279097, this issue results in a black monitor when connecting to a 22" monitor via DVI. ) -- Screen gets split (or dark) when connector is "HDMI-1" (intel, Intrepid, hdmi) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279100 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
