Thanks for the report Trouilliez vincent , It has been a long time
without any comment or a duplicate in this bug report and It is possible
that the bug has been fixed. May you please try to reproduce it with the
latest Stable Release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal and add the respective
comments to the report? You can learn how to get that release at
http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate your
help.

2011-07-11 Thread Trouilliez vincent
I don't use Gnome any more, I have lost interest in it over time (now
using XFCE), lets just close this bug and call it done Ubuntu
doesn't even use Gnome any more anyway, so I doubt they care the
slightest about such a minor issue.

[Bug 279853] Re: Timed login count down: logs in one second too soon.

2009-07-09 Thread Lightbreeze
A 'paper cut' is a minor usability issue likely to be encountered by most users
the first day using a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10.
This is not a 'paper cut' because timed login will not be used by default in
Ubuntu 9.10, but rather users will login automatically without delay.

Don't worry though, this bug is only marked 'Invalid' in the One
Hundred Paper Cuts project.

[Bug 279853] Re: Timed login count down: logs in one second too soon.

2009-03-11 Thread Nait
Same here on:
- Ubuntu 9.04 alpha 5 32 bit on vmplayer (gdm boots to almost default gnome
desktop)
apt-cache policy gdm
gdm:
  Zainstalowana: 2.20.8-0ubuntu10
  KandydujÄ…ca: 2.20.8-0ubuntu10
  Tabela wersji:
 *** 2.20.8-0ubuntu10 0
500 http://pl.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
-Ubuntu 8.10 64bit (native on c2d e4...@2.2ghz, gdm boots to not so default
KDE4.2 desktop )
apt-cache policy gdm
gdm:
  Zainstalowana: 2.20.8-0ubuntu3
   KandydujÄ…ca: 2.20.8-0ubuntu3
  Tabela wersji:
 *** 2.20.8-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://pl.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I guess that time before boot is counted just after gdm start, but counter
starts when gdm is fully loaded.
I can send you my virtual machine image if you want;). This bug don't bother
me, but if you need to test fix somewhere I will try to help(VMs are good for
experiments, even broken gdm can't hurt:)
