[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
I am closing this issue since VMWare provides a documented alternative to control alt delete. Please do not hesitate to file a new bug report if you encounter any future issues. ** Changed in: vmware-player (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
The VMWare documentation mentions that Ctrl+Alt+Insert is forwarded to the virtual machine as Ctrl+Alt+Del so that this major short cut does not lead to conflicts between the guest and the host OS. Does using Ctrl+Alt+Insert work? Or doesn't it respond to is? ** Changed in: vmware-player (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = vmware-player Status: New = Incomplete -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
I'm running VMware Workstation 6.5, and created a Windows XP guest OS, and then opened it using VMware Player 2.5.0. This issue did not appear for me on Kubuntu 8.10 using KDE 4.2. Please confirm that the issue still exists. -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
Thanks. It is a workaround but Ctrl+Alt+Prnt_Scrn works for me too. -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
Hi, Hope this works for you, I got the following answer on the VMware community: Try Ctrl+Alt+Insert or Ctrl+Alt+Prnt_Scrn The last one worked for me to trigger the login screen for WinXP. -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
Thanks, but are you saying that CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work in VMWare, or your new keybinding (Shift+Break) doesn't work for bringing up the session dialog? ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
Sorry, that was misleading: CTRL+ALT+DEL does not work in vmware. It seems, CTRL+ALT+DEL isn't passed through to vmware. -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware
Hi, Same problem. Just upgraded to kubuntu 8.10 and VMware-player 2.5. I want to login to WinXP guest OS and CTRL-ALT-DEL not passed through to the guest OS so I can't get a login prompt from WinXP. Instead VMware seems to be interpreting as request to grab focus back to host OS. Makes it impossible to login to guest OS. -- CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
