[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware

2009-12-17 Thread etali
I am closing this issue since VMWare provides a documented alternative
to control alt delete. Please do not hesitate to file a new bug report
if you encounter any future issues.

[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware

2009-02-17 Thread Uwe L. Korn
The VMWare documentation mentions that Ctrl+Alt+Insert is forwarded to
the virtual machine as Ctrl+Alt+Del so that this major short cut does
not lead to conflicts between the guest and the host OS.

Does using Ctrl+Alt+Insert work?
Or doesn't it respond to is?

I'm running VMware Workstation 6.5, and created a Windows XP guest OS,
and then opened it using VMware Player 2.5.0. This issue did not appear
for me on Kubuntu 8.10 using KDE 4.2. Please confirm that the issue
still exists.

Thanks. It is a workaround but Ctrl+Alt+Prnt_Scrn works for me too.

Hi,

Hope this works for you, I got the following answer on the VMware
community:

Try Ctrl+Alt+Insert or Ctrl+Alt+Prnt_Scrn

The last one worked for me to trigger the login screen for WinXP.

2008-10-08 Thread Chris Coulson
Thanks, but are you saying that CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work in VMWare, or
your new keybinding (Shift+Break) doesn't work for bringing up the
session dialog?

Sorry, that was misleading:
CTRL+ALT+DEL does not work in vmware. It seems, CTRL+ALT+DEL isn't passed
through to vmware.

[Bug 280045] Re: CTRl-Alt-Del unusuable in vmware

2008-10-08 Thread MarkD
Hi,

Same problem. Just upgraded to kubuntu 8.10 and VMware-player 2.5.

I want to login to WinXP guest OS and CTRL-ALT-DEL not passed through to
the guest OS so I can't get a login prompt from WinXP. Instead VMware
seems to be interpreting as request to grab focus back to host OS.

Makes it impossible to login to guest OS.
