Could you install kdepim-dbg and test with KDE 4.2? The backtrace apport
included isn't usefull.

Thank you Richard. The bug occurs continuously, reliably, and

It's entirely possible that this is two separate issues but we can't
really tell yet.

The bug stays as incomplete until we can get enough information for a
developer to start working on it in which case it becomes 'Triaged' or
until someone can reproduce it reliably in which case it becomes
confirmed. It's not unusual for a bug to remain Incomplete for quite a
while

It happens when I start the application, both after a reboot and after
the system has been running for some time.

Yes, but inconsistently. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it does not.

This will take some time as that was on a test system that has been
reformatted already and is in use. But I will try to put a priority on
it in the coming weeks.

OT: When replying, should I leave the bug as Incomplete or change it's
Status? To what should I change it (New, Confirmed, other)? Thanks.

[Bug 280772] Re: kontact crashed with SIGSEGV

2008-10-25 Thread Richard Birnie
Thanks for reporting this bug.

Could you give us some idea what you were doing immediately prior to the
crash. For example did it occur when you first started the application
or just after a reboot. We need to try to figure out the steps to
reproduce the crash to be able to fix it. Most importantly, is the crash
reproducible? If you can reproduce the crash please install the package
kdepim-dbg then induce the crash. This should give us a more informative
backtrace to help diagnose the problem.

Thanks
