Can you please open a Terminal window and do sudo killall jockey-backend sudo /usr/share/jockey/jockey-backend --debug 21 | tee /tmp/jockey.log Then open a second Terminal and do jockey-gtk --list Copypaste its output, move back to the first terminal with jockey-backend, press Control-C to end it, and attach /tmp/jockey.log here. I just checked the debug info and the code, and I cannot really make sense of this. You said you did get the dialog which asked for authorization and you entered your password? When I do that here, and use the right one, it succeeds, and if I use the wrong one, I get a message box You are not allowed blabla, but not a crash. Can you reproduce this error? If you can, does it happen again if you keep the authorization for the entire session? After it happens, can you please open a Terminal window and run this command? polkit-auth | grep com.ubuntu.devicedriver Please copypaste the output here.
