Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-evdev
When plugging a Dual Shock 3 on a computer with an USB mouse attached, then pressing the middle "P" (Playstation) joystick button to activate the joystick, the mouse acts as a joystick, which makes it useless. The mouse cursor comes back to the middle of the screen all the time, and moving the mouse jerks the cursor left, right, up or down before it quickly returns to central position (however the jerk is analog, since it can be controlled by moving the DS3 analog pad slowly). This is a regression from both Hardy and Intrepid Beta 1 (and from Intrepid Aplha 6 too), starting from xserver-xorg-input-evdev - 1:2.0.99+git20080912-0ubuntu4 (today). The problem doesn't appear with other joysticks (tested with a Playstation 1 all digital original controler through USB converter, and MS SideWinder Game Pad USB), except maybe for the PS3 Sysaxis joypad (and even other wireless/USB pluggable joypad combination with a button to activate the joystick) Note : the jopystick behaving like a mouse is another bug report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input- evdev/+bug/274203). ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: regression-potential -- [Intrepid] Mouse acts as a Joystick when a Sony Playstation Dual Shock 3 controller is plugged (USB) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/284954 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
