[Bug 286278] Re: me-tv sydney channel 7 scan

2008-10-21 Thread Michael Lamothe
Hi Mark,

Now I'm confused, how did you get Me TV to rescan different regions
without removing the ~/.me-tv/channels.conf file?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi again Michael,

I looked through some help forums and learned to display hidden files.
Selected then deleted the conf file, thus resulting in the ability to
rescan. Unfortunately the help forums could not assist me with my
channel 7 issue.

Back to you.

Regards
Mark

[Bug 286278] Re: me-tv sydney channel 7 scan

2008-10-21 Thread Michael Lamothe
Ok then, please ignore my `rm ~/.me-tv/channels.conf` suggestion.

See if you can get the scan application working
(http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Scan). If you can't then there's a
more generic issue with your DVB setup i.e. a driver issue. If you can,
then you can use the resulting channels.conf to copy to the ~/.me-tv
directory. Either way, this is not a Me TV issue.

Thanks,

Michael

[Bug 286278] Re: me-tv sydney channel 7 scan

2008-10-20 Thread Michael Lamothe
I think that this is a dvb-utils package issue, the initial scan/tuning
file that they provide is out of date. Channel 7 changed their Guard
Interval a little while back but Hardy users are still using the old
setting. Which region did you use to scan? If you can't remember then
look in /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t, it might jog your
memory.

Now, all you have to do to get Me TV to rescan is `rm ~/.me-
tv/channels.conf`, try scanning another region. Most of the tuning
details are the same all around Australia and some regions have been
updated for the new Guard Interval.

Well, that's assuming that I'm not a complete loon.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your ultra quick assistance. In answer to your questions I
provide:

1. The region I scanned was the 3 provided for Sydney. They are 2 for
North Shore and 1 for Kings Cross. None discovered channel 7.

2. I have tried scanning with all available east cost regions but none
find channel 7.

3. I am a real dummy when it comes to command code, so I do not
understand what you mean when you say Now, all you have to do to
get Me TV to rescan is `rm ~/.me-tv/channels.conf`, Can you spell it out
for me. That is to say, step 1 do this, step 2 do that and so on??:-)

I look forward to your continued assistance.

Kind regards
Mark
