[Bug 287425] Re: kubuntu kwrite "recent update" "computer crash"

2008-11-09 Thread Andreas Wenning
Have you realized the freezing occuring upon doing a certain thing in
kwrite. Does the crash happen after using kwrite some time, or can it
happen almost just after opening the program?

Re: [Bug 287425] Re: kubuntu kwrite "recent update" "computer crash"

2008-10-31 Thread hermanningjaldsson
its continuing to freeze even today.

but ive realised that if i press ctrl-alt-d
(which is a shortcut to minimize all programs)

and then i maximize the kwrite again and the freezing is gone.

its like that shortcut refreshes some memory which had a deadlock or
something.

Re: [Bug 287425] Re: kubuntu kwrite "recent update" "computer crash"

2008-10-31 Thread hermanningjaldsson
this bug does still occur, yes.
also, sometimes its like the shift button is stuck on constant press, and i
just need to press it again.
Didn't figure that out right away though, and that is a bug.

here are the versions im using:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ kwrite --version
Qt: 3.3.8b
KDE: 3.5.10
KWrite: 4.5.10

i have only noticed firefox freeze when kwrite is freezing as well.
and because of that other bug which has also started happening recently in
kwrite i find it kinda likely kwrite is the culprit.

no i havent noticed any other applications affected than kwrite and
firefox.

[Bug 287425] Re: kubuntu kwrite "recent update" "computer crash"

2008-10-30 Thread Richard Birnie
Thanks for reporting this bug. To find the source of the problem we need to
clarify a few things.
Firstly, does the bug still occur?
What version of kwrite do you use? You can find out by typing kwrite --version
in a terminal
You say the that firefox starts freezing when kwrite freezes. Does firefox only
freeze when kwrite freezes or does it happen at other times as well?
Have you noticed any other applications affected apart from firefox and kwrite?

Thanks
