*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 260492 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260492 I just had the problem where mplayer (actually for me it was vlc since it's my default media player) opened on another machine. Similar problem but it opens mplayer (and after unistalling that Totem) instead. Forgot to mention that my root partition is separate from my /home partition.
