Hi Rohit, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 291876 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. I got the window again when I tried to use a damaged CD. So my uneducated guess is this error comes when the OS is not able to read some data off the disc sectors. I lightly sandpapered an unwanted CD and tried it and found this is replicable. I also get this error here at my girl friends notebook. A few days ago everything worked without problems. Now I get exact the same error message like shown on the screenshot. It's really annoying.
