Now xorg randomly crashes and restarts to the login prompt. Compiz is enabled as before with Option AccelMethod EXA to avoid crashes, as suggested in a bug report here in launchpad. Hi, I've tried to collect a backtrace but, as Kevin experienced, when i typed gdb attach pid# my system froze. Music in background continued playing but i'm unable to do anything. Power off button the only solution. Still the most annoying bug in intrepid. Hi, I was unable to run a proper backtrace. gdb attach pid# caused my system to lock-up totally. Power off needed to reboot. Verifiable, did it several times. Never the less here is my Xorg.log file, hoping it will help. This crash can happen as often as in the middle of the restart, to 30 seconds later, to sometimes I get a whole half hour. Doesn't seem to be related to a particular program, though Firefox seems to get it more than others. It might just as well be Shi Shen Sho or FreeCell. Hi, does it happen to you with xorg.conf option AccelMethod true?? because it seems to have been fixed in the latest updates since october.. Currently it's more than on week that i don't have these crashes anymore.
