There is a setting for this in firefox preferences. by enabling that by
default means others will than have problems that is why we leave it as
a setting rather than default build

There are some problems with compositing enabled, but why not look at them?
Scrolling is ugly without smooth scrolling, which is both enabled in firefox 
under windows and in IE *hint*

So IMHO don't make this invalid but open until the problems are
resolved.
