Well, thanks for your efforts guys, but sadly this bug fix has still not been released via the automatic update system by now... That is, for 8.04 LTS. But that's not too important to me now, I'll probably gonna make a switch to 9.10 or another distro soon. But the grieveous bug of regular Thunar freezes has occured from the day I started to use Xubuntu - on a completely different hardware. I don't know what's the cause of this, a buggy XFCE desktop or bugs in Thunar, but it's seriously interfering all day work. As the mentioned bugreports (and my personal experience) suggest, this has been an issue since 2006. For efficient work, a tree view is vital, but it's too unstable to use this mode. So please, someone of you dev's gotta contact the XFCE dev team and get this nasty thing finally sorted. I'm also gonna send a bugreport at XFCE's, to also draw their attention to the problem.
