2009-10-05 Thread Michael Fletcher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can
you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

[Bug 298719] Re: recording plays back at higher frequency

2009-07-28 Thread jose
Problem in my machine in Jaunty was solved apparently when i uninstalled the
original webcam drivers that came with the distribution and installed
ov51x-jpeg as per the instructions for ubuntu 8.10 in the page
http://www.rastageeks.org/ov51x-jpeg/index.php/Ov51xJpegHackedInstall.
Webcam started working in skype and amsn (with jaunty drivers it worked only in
cheese)
recording with webcam now works ok.

[Bug 298719] Re: recording plays back at higher frequency

2009-07-26 Thread jose
** Description changed:

have kubuntu 8.10 wubi install .
after installing kubuntu first thing i did was install skype package from
skype page,
  made test call .
When what i talked was reproduced it was reproduced chipmunk style (high
frecuency of the voice). playback of music and the voice of the automated
message was ok.

Installed audacity to see if it was skype bug (even though i have no problems
in same machine with gutsy)
same results in audacity. Recording in audacity the time measurement in
audacity shows "slow" recording.
a four of five second recording apears in audacity timeline as if it had been
only two seconds.

recording is with usb camera microphone with 0v51x driver as it comes
  from kubuntu install.
+
+ Installed Jaunty 64b, wubi install, exact same problem, this bug is
+ keeping me in gutsy which is a problem as the repositories have been
+ taken down.

[Bug 298719] Re: recording plays back at higher frequency

2009-07-26 Thread Matthieu Baerts
This bug affects me too now !

On my desktop I have an USB webcam (with a microphone included) and the
sound is recorded with a wrong frequency. I hadn't this problem on
Ubuntu Intrepid.

It seems that the record is maded with a wrong frequency because if I record
myself with Audacity in 44100Hz and I play it with this same frequency, the
sound is reproduced like an chipmunk style (an high frecuency of the voice).
But if I play the same sound with an smaller frequency (exactly the half,
22050Hz) the sound is now ok !

How can I correct it ? Do I have to modify the file ~/.asoundrc and how
to ?

Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 on Gnome with PulseAudio
The microphone is recognized like "OmniVision Technologies, Inc. OV519 WebCam"
with the command "lsusb"

[Bug 298719] Re: recording plays back at higher frequency

2008-11-24 Thread Stefan Kubler
I have the same issue with my own USB Camera/Microphone under Gnome 2.41
in Ubuntu 8.10. The exact same fault occurs if I install both the skype
package or skype-static-oss package from the medibuntu repos.

I have had to disable pulseaudio to get any kind of sound recorded by my
USB microphone.

I'm happy to post any required info about my system, just let me know
what output is required and I'll try and supply it.
