[Bug 300845] Re: kernel - problem with sd card recognition

2008-12-02 Thread Matthew
There was a kernel update, and situation is now better.
So the most of cases both card are recognized, but somatimes the errors are
occoured with both card.
uname -a:
Linux mbook 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Tue Nov 4 19:33:06 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Version signature: Ubuntu 2.6.27-7.16-generic
The lspci's output is attached.

[Bug 300845] Re: kernel - problem with sd card recognition

2008-11-30 Thread Peter Cordes
That's odd that one card works and one doesn't. Is that repeatable, or
does your card reader just sometimes fail to detect the card, and it was
just chance that one card didn't work? I saw a mention in a mailing
list message of a card reader that only supported one voltage, unlike
some others that support 2 or more. So maybe some cards aren't
compatible with some readers. I don't know.

 Also see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingHardwareDetection

In this case, there's obviously no USB involved, but the full kernel
uname and version signature never hurt. Most useful would be lspci
-vvnn, since these SD card reader problems are almost always chipset-
specific, and the sdhci lines from your dmesg output don't say what the
hardware is. Wouldn't hurt do include the full dmesg output, too.
