Hi, sorry if my answer comes late. I have just read it. Yes, I have a Belkin optical mouse w/ scrollwheel. I tried several mouses, but none of them caused me any problem, the same happens for other usb pen drives. Do you think it could be an hardware related problem like an FS damage? Recently I have updated to Kernel 2.6.30.5, but the problem remains (the dmesg post is attached). If I'm not wrong I had the same problem with kernel 2.6.24, too. The problemdoes not depend on the hardware platform. Maybe it is an harware problem, however, the pen drive keeps working under windows. Thanks for your reply. Yes, my usb key it's a generic pen drive, and I experienced the same problem both with my laptop and with other two desktop. The OS is always Ubuntu 8.04.
