marking as invalid. For intrepid the packages was marked as only
compatible with ia64 (hence no binary packages available, only the
source). The reason was that it back then was arch-specific. Hence I'm
marking this bug as invalid, since libunwind was never meant to be
compilable on a different architecture than ia64 back for intrepid.)

(P.S.: libunwind with fixes to compile on other architectures will soon
be found in lucid).

Upgrading to 0.99 should make this problem go away. I think you're referring to 
the problem fixed by this commit upstream.
