I wil attach a dmesg as soon as I catch it again. [Bug 305777] Re: trackpad disconnect
Hi Robert, When you get a chance, could you also attach an updated dmesg output using the latest 2.6.31-10 based Karmic kernel after you experience the trackpad disconnecting? I'd just like to see what the current error messages being printed are. [Bug 305777] Re: trackpad disconnect
Robert, I did read this short bug log. We didn't get any useful information about your configuration, so please follow this: --- Unfortunately it seems this bug is still an issue. Can you confirm this issue exists with the most recent Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 release - http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntu-9.04-desktop . If the issue remains in Jaunty, Please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic If you could also test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine this issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. --- Bryan ** Tags added: needs-kernel-logs needs-upstream-testing -- trackpad disconnect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 305777] Re: trackpad disconnect
I am using intrepid. No specific steps that I know of, just use my laptop a lot and every now and then the mouse freezes, checking in dmesg shows what I pasted. I did notice (once!) that when I went to the NetworkManager applet and selected 'disable wireless' the disconnect/reconnect trackpad events happened. -Rob -- trackpad disconnect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
