Public bug reported:

My cd rom device is not recognized on Ubuntu not appears on my local folders. 
In my local folder appears only the HD, computer and CD/DVD creator.
My Ubuntu version is 8.10, portuguese Brazil translated.
Synaptic Version: 0.62.1Ubuntu10.
I tried to burn a ISO on Brasero Burn, but my cdrom drive is not found on the 
system.
