I also have the same issue as Bepy, it uses 37% of my CPU uses a ridiculous amount of the IO and just slows the machine way down. I've a similar problem related on update-apt-xapian-index: few minutes after startup of my old PC (when it goes idle, or during web browsing) the update-apt-xapian-index process starts and get all the CPU.
