I tested the issue on Intrepid full update (as suggested by Pedro) and in fact the portable audio device is correctly recognized. I think some updates fix the issue present in the live. Moreover I can confirm the bug in Hardy (I tested this on a fresh install). @Pedro, I will try to test Intrepid with latest packages as soon as possible (I use Hardy so for me is rather difficult to test other distros if they aren't live cd as I have a slow internet connection).
