This is what finally helped takis_rs. Given that you got the same acore in the path from modinfo snd. Though, the question is still how those directories got there. They are not shipped in the kernel package, so they have to be created after installing the kernel. And it must be something that does not recompile the modules, otherwise the new headers should have been applied. Whatever it was, I cannot say it won't happen again. Same bug here. Happened after update last night. Dell XPS m1330 with internal soundcard. This looks like the right path and version. Now the reported problems are with symbols from snd. What does modinfo snd say? Does sudo depmod -ae print anything? This explains a lot. Where does this come from? The path is ../sound/acore/.. (not ../sound/core/.. as it should be. Also the srcversion is wrong (clean install is 6F1D7091053B27E2FE717AA, yours is 488AFCE28EE8CF1A3F98709). It is hard to say something definitive here. It might be due to the missing depmod or there are more foreign modules littered in. You might boot into the old kernel. Move the new modules dir out of the way (could be deleted later) and try to reinstall the newer kernel with the apt-get command above.
