What exactly is missing? 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, sebast...@desktop:~$ gnome-panel (or just log into gnome as gnome-panel is started automatically then, but then you don't have the debug output) 2. the behavior you expected, and I expected it to start of course ;) 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Well it didn't start, as the title says - I also gave all debug info i could gather.
