I marked bug #368760 as a duplicate of this, under suggestion of Peter Kerekfy. I can experience the problem in both flavours: association takes forever to accomplish (and sometimes, two or three attempts), and wifi detection after login takes ~40s (network set as system setting), while on intrepid it was instantaneous.
