Re: [Bug 323728] Re: [P4i65G] hibernate/resume problem

2009-07-15 Thread 89paladins
With Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 release (2.6.28-13-generic), the bug doesn't
appear: Synaptic doesn't crash when the PC goes out from hibernate. It' OK.
Thanks a lot !

Unfortunately it seems this bug is still an issue. Can you confirm this
issue exists with the most recent Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 release -
http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntu-9.04-desktop . If the issue remains
in Jaunty, Please run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and
attach updated debug information to this report.

 apport-collect -p linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic bug #

If you could also test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine this
issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon
next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and
deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your
 results.

 Thanks in advance.

[Bug 323728] Re: [P4i65G] hibernate/resume problem

2009-02-12 Thread Andy Whitcroft
Could you please let us know the manufacturer of this machine for
tracking? Is this reproducible say over 10 cycles. Has
suspend/hibernate ever worked in the past, if so which kernel release
(cat /proc/version_signature)? Please include any information as to the
circumstances leading up to this failure, for example did your battery
run out?

What happened when you resumed from hibernate. Did the machine lock up,
did any messages come out? If it is reproducible could you try the
hibernate from VT1, press ctrl-alt-F1, login, and run pm-hibernate
there. If you could test and report back here that would be helpful.

** Summary changed:

- P4i65G Suspend/Resume or hibernate problem
+ [P4i65G] hibernate/resume problem

[Bug 323728] Re: [P4i65G] hibernate/resume problem

2009-02-12 Thread 89paladins
Sorry for my english language, i'm french.
It's me. This machine is a desktop PC, not a laptop.
I don't known, because i've changed of release of distribution Ubuntu (9.04 --
8.10).
Yes, but i had to go back on Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
The kernel release was this used by Ubuntu Jancty Jackalope Alpha 3.
The go out of hibernate was perfect. OpenOffice.org (v. 3.01) was run and
didn't disappear.
The machine resumed from hibernate, i just wanted to change of desktop's window
and Synaptic disappeared.
No, the machine didn't lock up. Any trouble, just Synaptic who disappeared.
Sorry, but i can't now.
