Yep, I'm completely updated and the problem persists. I have a similar problem but instead of a blank screen all my windows and panels disappear and only the desktop background remains. All the while my mouse cursor indicates that the computer is working but it remains this way until I log out of GDM and remove compiz. I am using Jaunty Alpha 4 with nvidia 180.27 drivers on an nvidia 8600gts.
