Xorg crashed again for me today with a similar but longer traceback. I was running a full screen program in Cedega. It crashed and brought me back to the GDM login. Once I logged in, I got the apport crash message. KDE was starting. No memory of what was running. But certainly not gimp, inkscape nor xournal. F. However the code in question doesn't make it clear where the failure is:
