[Bug 329562] Re: Refresh rate does not hold in Ubuntu 9.04

2009-04-10 Thread Dave
The same is happening to me, it will not save the refresh rate. However,
this is happening on fglrx and a westinghouse L2610NW. I select 60hz and
it reverts back to 62h.

[Bug 329562] Re: Refresh rate does not hold in Ubuntu 9.04

2009-04-07 Thread G. Arena
Now, after some of the many updates, the refresh rate stays at 75 Hz and and
1280x1024 resolution.
I can not, however, set the resolution to any other value without causing a
shift of the screen to the right and a black strip on the left of the screen.

Gaetano Arena

Hmm, that's a shame, but sounds like perhaps a separate bug, so would be
best if you could report that separately.

An easy way to report it is via ubuntu-bug packagename

2009-03-25 Thread G. Arena
Mr.Bryce Harrington,
I am glad to report that, after installation of some of the many suggested
updates, the problem of not holding the refresh rate at 75 Hz, has disappeared.
It still remains the problem of not being able to change thee resolution and
'Display Unknown, as reported in Bug # 339732.

2009-03-24 Thread Bryce Harrington
** Description changed:

Every time I restart the PC, a Black strip appears to the left of the screen.
A check with SystemPreferencesScreen resolution, shows that the Refresh
Rate has been reduced at 60 Hz from the previous setting of 75 Hz.
I reset it at 75 Hz, but next restart of the PC, the refresh rate returns
again at 60 Hz.
The monitor is marked always: Unknown.
I suspect that it is a Xorg problem.
I am attaching the dmesg file

2009-03-04 Thread Bryce Harrington
heh, 'lspci -vvnn' is a command you run on the command line. ;-)

Go to Applications Accessories Terminal, then when that comes up,
type or paste this in:

lspci -vvnn /tmp/lspci-vvnn.txt

Then in this bug click Browse... next to the Attachments line, and
select the file /tmp/lspci-vvnn.txt to add to this report.

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your
/var/log/Xorg.0.log file from after reproducing this issue. If you've
made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as
well.

Mr. Bryce Harrington,
I cannot find lspci -vvnn. The only file that I could find is: /usr/bin/lspci
that I attach.
Please find attached, also, the requested /var/log/Xorg.O.log and
/etc/X11/xorg.conf

2009-02-16 Thread G. Arena
I want add that the settings for the screen Resolution are: 1280x1024.
This is the default setting at installation.
It is the only setting that, when the Refresh Rate is adjusted at 75 Hz, the
screen is filled and no Black strips are visible.
