Same situation for me on white Macbook 2,1. Also with Jaunty Alpha3. Both Live and Alternate CD's. I've tried noacpi, noapic, irqpoll, fb=false, with no luck. I've checked the media is ok by booting different machines with same CD. ** Description changed: I tried to install Jaunty alpha 4 on my aluminium macbook (alternative install CD, AMD64) but it didn't go too well. Keyboard works initially and I'm able to select the installing option from the boot screen. Then, i8042.c: no controller found flashes on the screen and the internal keyboard stops working (and subsequently also the installation process). I tried dmesg with 8.10 (I had no problems with the keyboard with this version) and found the same no controller found announcement.
