If not so, please reassign. Description of problem: I am using the weather forecast feature at the GNOME Desktop. Since the airport Berlin Tempelhof was closed at Oct 31rd it does not send correct weather data anymore. Since this date, I at always has says something about a weather of 4 degrees. Luckily it is currently not that cold around here :) If I use instead of Berlin Tempelhof Schönefeld or Tegel instead, I get the correct weather data. It might also be useful to flag stale observations (older than 24 hours, say). Another enhancement would be to display the full location name. For example, the "Current Conditions" tab could show "Berlin-Tempelhof" instead of "Berlin". Also, the label "City" is misleading. It would more accurate to say "Location". [Bug 329881] Re: Weather applet uses defunct station for Berlin weather
Is there a way to edit this manually (ie, using gconf-editor)? The only mention of "weather" I could find with gconf-editor was in the /schemas/apps/gweather key (some "locations" there), but as they are schemas, gconf-editor can't edit them. -- Weather applet uses defunct station for Berlin weather https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Daniel, There was a comment on the upstream bug concerning the "missing" Berlin stations. "No station was removed. They just don't appear in the UI by default since it was confusing for the user." -- Weather applet uses defunct station for Berlin weather https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 329881] Re: Weather applet uses defunct station for Berlin weather
I installed the latest package from the Jaunty repository libgweather-common 2.25.5-0ubuntu1 libgweather1 2.25.5-0ubuntu1 And I can confirm your bug report. There is only one option for Berlin, and it is a defunct weather station. the information is from March 02. It is Feb 16 today, and unless they have really good forecasting information I am going to assume that is March 02 of 2008. Daniel, thank you for catching this. I am going to update the information upstream. I am trying to find someone with the ability to mark a gnome-bug as confirmed and hopefully the correct individuals will see this. ** Changed in: libgweather (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- Weather applet uses defunct station for Berlin weather https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
