Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tracker-search-tool
I tried out the new Tracker packages, but it seems they aren't quite configured right. 1. My startup files run tracker-applet and trackerd. 2. The .xsession-errors file gives the following message: (trackerd:21511): Tracker-CRITICAL **: Couldn't disable all volumes, The name org.freedesktop.Tracker.Indexer was not provided by any .service files 3. tracker-applet runs, but its icon never shows up in the notification area. I have tried several things, including deleting all tracker configuration files (in .local/, .config/ and .cache/). Tracker-applet still hangs. If you strace tracker-applet, it does this forever: poll([{fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=4, events=POLLIN}], 2, 0) = 0 (Timeout) read(3, 0x13fbd64, 4096) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable) read(3, 0x13fbd64, 4096) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable) poll([{fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=4, events=POLLIN}], 2, 0) = 0 (Timeout) read(3, 0x13fbd64, 4096) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable) . ** Affects: tracker (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- New Tracker does not work: applet is invisible. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/331066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
