[Bug 332073] Re: wrong screen resolution

2009-04-06 Thread fuy
Updated to last BIOS version I could find (F.06 :
http://www.hp2133guide.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1888). Did another
full system update of Ubuntu 9.04.

Checked out a clean SVN source tree for openchrome, build installed.
1st cold boot -- Xorg.0.log.svn_clean

Made the change as adviced,
2nd cold boot -- Xorg.0.log.patched

Hope this helps.

[Bug 332073] Re: wrong screen resolution

2009-03-15 Thread fuy
Upgraded tot Alpha 6 still same issue.
Anyone an idea if this is looked after or not?

Currently I have resolution set at 1366x768 which looks best font wise.
Of course some screen parts are not viewable.

Thanks,
Frederik.

[Bug 332073] Re: wrong screen resolution

2009-03-04 Thread fuy
Two more questions if I may.

How come my xorg.conf is empty? When I look at for instance at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HP2133 then the xorg.conf
should contain a lot more information? My xorg.conf is attached.

Also when I try the command as stated in the xorg.conf to reconfigure
xserver all I get is the following message,

f...@maximini:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
xserver-xorg postinst warning: overwriting possibly-customised configuration
   file; backup in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.20090304213509
f...@maximini:~$

How come?

Frederik.

[Bug 332073] Re: wrong screen resolution

2009-03-01 Thread fuy
I (tried to) installed the last version from SVN for openchrome and now
the driver seem to get loaded. My netbook is detected but the resolution
is still not correct. I hope someone is looking at this as I really
REALLY want to use Ubuntu on this netbook :).

I attached a new Xorg.0.log.

[Bug 332073] Re: wrong screen resolution

2009-02-21 Thread fuy
Added as requested.

I started the livecd again just to be sure, and there the resolution is correct
(1024x600 @ 60Hz).
The correct resolution is available using the 'Screen Resolution' applet, but
when selecting that resolution the ubuntu desktop is still bigger then the LCD.

[Bug 332073] Re: wrong screen resolution

2009-02-20 Thread fuy
** Description changed:

I have a HP 2133 Mini Note book and the screen resolution is not
correctly detected (ubuntu 9.04 alpha 4 + full system update). The
specific code for my machine is : FU346EA#UUG. Anything I can do to help
  resolve this? I know about
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HP2133 and http://doc.ubuntu-
fr.org/hp_2133_mininote but I think this should be solved (which should
  be possible), not just documented.

+ When running the LiveCD, the resolution is correct. It's after
+ installation that ubuntu makes the mistake. Weird.
+
Please let me know what I can do to help.

  Regards.

Could you please also run `lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.txt` and attach that
file to this bug report? Thanks ahead of time.

It appears for whatever reason, a driver is not getting detected for
your hardware.
