Public bug reported: Within the last month, I upgraded the Intel Wireless 3945 WLAN card on my laptop (a Dell Vostro 1500 running Kubuntu Jaunty 64) to an Intel 4965 card. The old 3945 card connected and associated quickly, and maintained the connection without a problem. However, with the new card, I have several problems making a connection (with the computer in the same physical location as before). Sometimes on startup it will take many retries to properly associate with the network (a WRT54G running DD-WRT with WPA enabled). This process produces a number of iteration of this:
[ 128.765890] wlan0: authenticate with AP ffff88011c04baa0 [ 128.767898] wlan0: authenticated [ 128.767905] wlan0: associate with AP ffff88011c04baa0 [ 128.770600] wlan0: RX ReassocResp from ffff8800de45c04e (capab=0x431 status=0 aid=3) [ 128.770607] wlan0: associated [ 139.765641] wlan0: disassociating by local choice (reason=3) in my dmesg. Most of the time, the wireless will connect immediately on startup, but will then after about 50 seconds disassociate and begin the above-mentioned cycle of retries until it connects again. Once the card is associated with the network, though, it never drops the signal or exhibits any other signs of trouble. I have tried using the linux- backports-modules version of iwlagn, but this does not affect the problem. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Intel 4965 Wireless LAN association problems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332387 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
