[Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working
I have more accounts than that. I have had trouble in the past signing in, and creating a new account would seem to work for a little while. But that's a whole different issue. Echo test now works for me. I feel silly that this entire time I have had such an easy to solve problem. Can I suggest that we have an obvious error message when a call fails? Possibly a popup window saying User username is not registered. Please ensure username and password are correct. [Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working
@Again617, In your case, the issue is with the REGISTER process: Ekiga fails to register to Ekiga.NET, consequently the attempt to call the echo test is refused (that's an Ekiga.NET policy, there's nothing wrong with it). The relevant part in the log is: 2010/04/19 10:56:11.535 0:08.445 Pool:0xb733cb70 SIP REGISTER transaction id=z9hG4bK2a1269be-394a-df11-8298-00265e153a08 completed. 2010/04/19 10:56:11.537 0:08.446 Opal Liste...0xb73beb70 Opal Transport clean up on termination 2010/04/19 10:56:11.538 0:08.447 Opal Liste...0xb73beb70 Opal Transport Close 2010/04/19 10:56:11.539 0:08.448 Pool:0xb733cb70 OpalUDP Setting interface to 192.168.0.111%eth1 2010/04/19 10:56:11.540 0:08.450 Pool:0xb733cb70 SIP Received Authentication Required response 2010/04/19 10:56:11.542 0:08.451 Pool:0xb733cb70 SIP Found auth info for realm ekiga.net 2010/04/19 10:56:11.543 0:08.453 Pool:0xb733cb70 SIP Authentication already performed using current credentials, not trying again. [Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working
Same here. I'm on Jaunty though. I didn't want to open another bug report unless someone tells me it's a different issue from the original 8.10 report. Here are my details: Ubuntu 9.04 Ekiga 3.2.0 During initial setup of Ekiga I went through the configuration wizard without setting up the call out account and using an old sip account. It registered successfully with ekiga.net but when I try the echo test (from the default local roster) it tries to connect but then I get call completed immediately in the status of the softphone. I tried using a new ekiga.net account with the same results. I did a sudo aptitude purge ekiga, sudo aptitude update, sudo aptitude ugprade and then reinstalled with sudo aptitude install ekiga. configured the same two accounts and still no echo test. I tried calling other sip accounts and nothing happens. -- echo test not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332543 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, There many different issues here. I will stick to the first entry: when I make echo test ,the call gets disconnected immediately. I use ubuntu 8.10. For other issues, please open new bugs or we wont be able to solve this one properly. I will close this one if we can solve the issue above. The number to call for the echo test is: sip:5...@ekiga.net Since Jaunty, Ekiga has a roster and it has the echo test directly available in it (Ekiga 3.2.0), just double-click on it. I am using a fresh Jaunty install. I also tried apt-get --purge remove ekiga followed by apt-get install ekiga, but it did not help. I am using a USB headset, too, but it doesn't work, with or without. Sound seems to work just fine in other applications, but when trying to phone sip:5...@ekiga.net nothing happens, dead silent. Both my ekiga and diamondcard accounts appear registered. It's a show stopper for me for switching from Ubuntu 8.04 where everything is working fine. [Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working
Was looking for a similar issue to report against. In my configuration, I had previous release of Ekiga running on Intrepid. I use it infrequently, mainly for voicemail but have both an Ekiga.net and Diamondcard account so I can do full in/out calling. Received a voicemail today and went to check it just to clear it from the outbound site. Found I could not make any outbound calls. Could make inbound calls. I'm running the alpha (current) version of Jaunty now. Had a second computer sitting next to this one, also running Jaunty, but with x86_64 binaries. Configured Ekiga there with default settings and it worked correctly for Echo Test and outbound calling. Removed configuration on this computer using apt-get purge ekiga and then apt-get autoremove and reinstalled. After new configuration of all attributes functionality was restored to normal. Possibly upgrade process from Intrepid to Jaunty is broken? Was this not a major release change between Ekiga 2.x and now 3.x? -- echo test not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332543 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
