[Bug 332589] Re: sbackup goes into zombie status
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 550261 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550261 I have Ubuntu 10.0.4.1 server 64 bit Same problem - remotely logged in using tightvncserver/vino and when I press the Backup Now button the GUI freezes. The backup appears to have been done although the resulting files seem a little large - 162G backup of a 75G filesystem(?). I haven't checked what it stored. Anyhow, I managed to kill the process from the command line with: sudo kill -9 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332589 Title: sbackup goes into zombie status -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 332589] Re: sbackup goes into zombie status
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 550261 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550261 Oops...my previous post was a little incorrect. I did ask it to back up a lot more than 75G so I have no reason to believe its backup process is faulty. I had not used sbackup until today. Only the freezing GUI is a definite fault. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332589 Title: sbackup goes into zombie status -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 332589] Re: sbackup goes into zombie status
Just an update: If I run 'sudo /usr/share/sbackup/sbackup' a new backup is created per the options set in the GUI, and the backup is then available in the restore GUI. Pressing Backup Now from the GUI creates a zombie process that terminates when I close the GUI. -- sbackup goes into zombie status https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332589 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 332589] Re: sbackup goes into zombie status
Description:Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Release:10.04 AMD64 Since update to lucid beta the gui can only configure settings, but not run a backup. Only running sudo sbackupd use the gui settings an drive the backup. This works well up to karmic and does the job on both i386 karmic machines. The sbackup gui backup now button creates only a zombie process, the ftp test buttons works well. sbackup Version: 0.10.5ubuntu2 -- sbackup goes into zombie status https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332589 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 332589] Re: sbackup goes into zombie status
I had this problem--I tried a backup to another computer via SSH, and the sbackupd process would change to zombie state. (You can see this in Gnome System Monitor by clicking the View menu, then All Processes.) I had just installed Simple Backup Config, as far as I can remember. I tried doing a backup to the default location (i.e. /var/backup) and that worked. So then I wanted to stop the backup, only way that worked was to reboot (killing sbackupd didn't stop the backup files from growing!). After the reboot, the SSH backup worked just fine. Maybe it has to do with logging in out, or rebooting??? Hope that helps. -- sbackup goes into zombie status https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332589 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
