I looked at it and I couldn't make heads or tails out of it!

2009-02-23 Thread Vincent
Nope, it's not that difficult though - you can copy an existing menu
entry file (.desktop files, e.g. in /usr/share/applications) and edit
the copy, it mostly speaks for itself. I do think you'll have to place
the new ones in /usr/share/applications for now (or perhaps some dir in
your home dir but I'm not sure which one) - Xfce 4.8 will be (is) better
at this :) (you know, with you being able to use a menu editor like
Alacarte and stuff)

[Bug 332975] Re: xfce4 menu crash setting custom

2009-02-22 Thread Lionel Le Folgoc
Hi,

Thanks for your bug report.

With Xfce 4.6, xfdesktop has moved to the XDG menu spec
(http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/). In Xfce 4.4, it
was using a specific menu format (not standard, only used by xfdesktop).

I'm marking this bug as won't fix since this is a config issue, you'll
need to update your menu.xml to comply with the xdg menu-spec (you can
give a look at /etc/xdg/menus/xfce-applications.menu or
/etc/xdg/xubuntu/menus/xfce-applications.menu for working menu files).

** Changed in: xfdesktop4 (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) = Lionel Le Folgoc (mrpouit)
   Status: New = Won't Fix

This new one seems a lot more confusing. Is there any way I can force it
to use the old style?
