Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amarok
After upgrading to Janty Alpha amarok started crashing during the loading window. Seems like it could be related to GStreamer. I have tried switching from alsa to pulseaudio with not much of a difference in error messages. Error messages are as follows: $LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libkjs.so.1 amarok amarok(10793) Phonon::KdePlatformPlugin::createBackend: using backend: "GStreamer" virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) "HDA Intel, AD198x Digital (IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output)" virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) ("iec958:CARD=Intel,DEV=0") virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) setProperty(device, "iec958:CARD=Intel,DEV=0" ) failed virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) "HDA Intel, AD198x Digital (IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output)" virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) ("iec958:CARD=Intel,DEV=0") virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) setProperty(device, "iec958:CARD=Intel,DEV=0" ) failed virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) "HDA Intel (AD198x Analog)" virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) ("x-phonon:CARD=0,DEV=0", "plughw:CARD=0,DEV=0") virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) setProperty(device, "x-phonon:CARD=0,DEV=0" ) failed virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) setProperty(device, "plughw:CARD=0,DEV=0" ) failed virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) "HDA Intel (AD198x Digital)" virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) ("x-phonon:CARD=0,DEV=1", "plughw:CARD=0,DEV=1") virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) setProperty(device, "x-phonon:CARD=0,DEV=1" ) failed virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) setProperty(device, "plughw:CARD=0,DEV=1" ) failed virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) "" virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) ("unix:/home/pete/.pulse/256c03f580e08ef3abe4c88f49651be8:runtime/native alsa_output.pci_8086_284b_sound_card_0_alsa_playback_0") virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) setProperty(device, "unix:/home/pete/.pulse/256c03f580e08ef3abe4c88f49651be8:runtime/native alsa_output.pci_8086_284b_sound_card_0_alsa_playback_0" ) failed virtual bool Phonon::Gstreamer::AudioOutput::setOutputDevice(const Phonon::AudioOutputDevice&) "default" <unknown program name>(10792)/: Communication problem with "amarok" , it probably crashed.
