I think it's rather disrespectful to Invalidate bugs when they contain a detailed reproduction recipe in the initial description, no less. Well, actually it only had steps for you to reproduce it and lacked any crash information for us to find the problem and fix it, which is why it was closed. When this crash happens does apport ask you to submit the problem? I cannot reproduce this problem in karmic but at this point update-manager doesn't show that particular window anymore. Retested in current Karmic: When the window appeared, compiz didn't crash.
