I have the same problem on my laptop fujitsu siemens V6515, ubuntu 9.04 ; nVidia Corporation GeForce 9200M G . Driver 195.36.15 Thu Mar 11 22:01:49 PST 2010. The screen resolution (800x1280) looks much better when windows-xp runs on the same machine. Ubuntu says it use the same resolution - but its a lie... I've posted a new version of the -nvidia driver to our xorg-edgers PPA, would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it resolves this bug?
