Aptcc seems to implement this feature just fine. (Sub progress
percentage)

[Bug 342788] Re: Implement a useful "Details" feature

2010-02-25 Thread Sebastian Heinlein
Download: The sub progress is a little bit problematic. Apt allows to
download files from several locations at the same time, but PackageKit
only supports ONE subprocess which can not be associated with a specific
download. But the backend already emits all currently downloaded
packages and their status (downloading, finished, failed).

Install: There will never be a away to see the dpkg output in
PackageKit. There is a clear objection against this from the project
leader.

In the end it would make sense to just hide the details button in
Kubuntu.

[Bug 342788] Re: Implement a useful "Details" feature

2010-01-31 Thread Jonathan Thomas
Aha, using other backends, the details pane shows a per-package
percentage download. It seems that the Apt backend doesn't support this
yet.
