[Bug 34375] Re: Multi-mode (audio+data) CDs always opened by Sound Juicer

2007-09-06 Thread Kazade
I am having the same problem; this is really annoying. It happens a lot
with games (e.g. Quake2) currently I can't even seem to get to the files
via the command line which is weird. "ls /media/cdrom0" lists nothing.
If I go to "Browse" on the right click menu it opens the SJ and lists
the first track as DATA. This is on Gutsy.

[Bug 34375] Re: Multi-mode (audio+data) CDs always opened by Sound Juicer

2007-05-29 Thread Russel Winder
I just tried this on Feisty Fawn and the problem is still there. Put a
disc in and you get the choice dialogue data/cd. I press data and get
Nautilus to browse the data. If I then close the Nautilus window, and
double click the icon on the backdrop, I get SJ. I have a `Browse
Folder' entry on the context menu, but that also starts SJ.

[Bug 34375] Re: Multi-mode (audio+data) CDs always opened by Sound Juicer

2007-05-26 Thread graymatter3

I think this bug should be reported upstream.

I actually have a "browse" option on right click. But this also opens
SJ. If I use the places menu in nautilus an error pops up:

"cdda:///dev/hdc" is not a valid location.
Please check the spelling and try again.

I'm having this same problem, otherwise the cd will load in Sound
Juicer, but the reported fix was made in Gnome 1.4, but I have 1.8 and
still have the problem of not being able to view the contents other than
SJ. What can I do?

you can't delete those for the moment bug you can update the bug number.
The issue is something that need to be worked upstream and there is
already bugs about it, the task number is not really important for that

2006-08-15 Thread Andrew Jorgensen
The issue as originally reported still exists. I don't think this was
ever the same as the upstream nautilus bug. It also doesn't have
anything at all to do with the libgnomeui bug. Is there a way to delete
those associations?

[Bug 34375] Re: Multi-mode (audio+data) CDs always opened by Sound Juicer

2006-08-15 Thread Sebastian Grössl
I still see the same behaviour.

Since this bug seems difficult to solve, I've listed all the possibilities to
access the contents of a Mixed-Mode CD and their respective outcomes below:
(A) After insertion, choose the desired method to open the CD:
Expected result: Open Sound Juicer or Nautilus depending on user selection.
Actual result: Open Sound Juicer or Nautilus depending on user selection.

(B) Doubleclick (or right-click and choose "Open") on CD-ROM icon on your
desktop:
Expected result: Sound Juicer opens the CD.
Actual result: Sound Juicer opens the CD.

(C) Right-click on CD-ROM icon on your desktop and choose "Browse...":
Expected result: Nautilus shows the data contents of the CD.
Actual result: Sound Juicer opens the CD.

(D) Choose Places -> CD-ROM:
Expected result: debatable
Actual result: Sound Juicer opens the CD.

(E) Open "Computer" in Nautilus and double-click on CD-icon:
Expected result: debatable
Actual result: Sound Juicer opens the CD.

(F) In Sidebar of Nautilus when "Places" is selected, double-click on the
CD-ROM icon:
Expected result: Nautilus shows the data contents of the CD.
Actual result: The folliwing error is reported: "cdda:///dev/hdc" is not a
valid location.
Please check the spelling and try again.

(G) In Nautilus manually enter or naviate to /media/cdrom/:
Expected result: Nautilus shows the data contents of the CD.
Actual result: Nautilus shows the data contents of the CD.

So apart from using (A), currently only (G) allows one to open the data part of
a CD. This is definitely not enough, since it's also not the most obvious
method.
A solution should therefore at least fix (C) and (F).

the upstream bug has been marked as fixed with a comment saying it works
fine with GNOME 2.14, do you still have the issue on dapper?
