To be honest I'd pull all the stable branch changes into dapper, they've been extensively tested in other distros, also a bug to fix some m6/m7 stability issues is currently due to be dropped in, I suspect many other bug reports cover this problem.... anyway my unofficial package referenced earlier will fix it for dapper users who want it..
