Itś ok to close the bug. Was intalling from scratch 9.10 and updating to 10.4. Still no resolution to this... uploading dmesg, debug, daemon, bootstrap. I don't know if any of those will tell anything--but perhaps it could be of some use to figure out what's going on. In the console I attempted startx and it resulted in the error I am receiving with the computer doing nothing.
