Official workaround does not work in 9.04. System hangs on shut down/restart This is an old problem but it has always been possible to fix it using the instruction in "https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MountWindowsSharesPermanently": sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/umountnfs.sh /etc/rc0.d/K15umountnfs.sh sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/umountnfs.sh /etc/rc6.d/K15umountnfs.sh Message in kern.log: Mar 22 23:54:14 xps-laptop kernel: [50890.036139] CIFS VFS: server not responding Mar 22 23:54:14 xps-laptop kernel: [50890.036197] CIFS VFS: No response for cmd 50 mid 52 ran...@xps-laptop:/var/log$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release: 9.04 Mounting smbfs using this row in fstab: //192.168.x.x/multimedia /media/Multimedia smbfs iochareset=utf8,credentials=/some/file/name,uid=1000 0 0 ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- CIFS VFS: server not responding https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348075 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
