[Bug 350838] Re: cannot detect headphone

2010-03-16 Thread David Tombs
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. Can you try with the
latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

[Bug 350838] Re: cannot detect headphone

2009-03-29 Thread Vin Shankar
There's a fix given further down that thread that worked on Hardy and
should apply to Intrepid too.

I quote:
just add this line:

options snd-hda-intel model=vaio

In the file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.

And restart.

 Status in Ubuntu: New

 Bug description:
A friend of mine uses a SONY-VAIO Model: VGN-Z13GN. The machine has a dual
boot with Windows and Intrepid. However, the machine cannot detect the
headphones. We tried the fix described in
 http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-637799.html
but they don't help since linux-backports-modules-generic is not available
 any more.
Please suggest a fix for this problem.

The headphones work fine in Windows.
