2009-06-22 Thread Dustin Kirkland
Marking Fix Released, as this should be fixed in the kvm module in the

If you can reproduce this problem on Karmic, please reopen the bug.

Thanks!

No, it's your option, rather.

Many users are able, and choose to, run the kvm module provided by the
Ubuntu kernel, which consists of slightly older, more thoroughly
tested code.

The kvm-source package provides the source code to a newer kvm module
that provides some new features and bug fixes, but is perhaps less
well tested than the one already in the kernel.

It is up to you to decide which one you want to run.

Is it planned to upgrade the kvm kernel module with the version in kvm-
source ?

[Bug 358836] Re: kvm general protection fault on jaunty

2009-04-14 Thread pingou67
I retried today, the panic is 100% reproduceable.

As you suggested I have tested with kvm-source and this has solved the
problem, no more panics :-)

Another problem, but it's not related, after the installation completed,
Solaris 10 didn't boot. It's a known problem, see :

http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Guest_Support_Status

Note: the grub menu entry for Solaris 10 created by the installer is
wrong, to make it work add unix/kernel to the line beginning with kernel
; tested on Ubuntu 8.04.1 by BerndSchemmer

Just an error, it's kernel/unix and not unix/kernel. Now Solaris 10
works fine.

Thanks
