[Bug 362996] Re: iwlagn crashes with Microcode SW error detected
I am running into the same issue, on fully updated lucid. I just wanted to add the observation that the crash seems to happen during large file transfers. (So far I have only seen it during cross device transfers >4GB, but I haven't tried to replicate with network or transfers to same device.) Other people have reported this elsewhere in reference to large file transfers over network. Thought I should add this. -- iwlagn crashes with Microcode SW error detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362996 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 362996] Re: iwlagn crashes with Microcode SW error detected
I have this same problem -- four or five intel driver crashes each day. You can find version numbers and details under bug #645175 see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/604175 Specifically, the same driver edition, v1.3.27ks gets used on both Lucid and Jaunty. Lucid crashes all the time. Jaunty runs and runs and works and works. (How do you spell, "regression"?) [Bug 362996] Re: iwlagn crashes with Microcode SW error detected
Hi Storm, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 362996 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. [Bug 362996] Re: iwlagn crashes with Microcode SW error detected
Hi Leann, I installed linux-backports-modules-jaunty, but it doesn't solve the issue. I don't know if it is really a duplicate of bug 200509, because my driver is iwlagn, not iwl4965. But the main problem is the same, so if you think it should be marked as duplicate, I will agree with you :) Thanks. -- iwlagn crashes with Microcode SW error detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362996 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 362996] Re: iwlagn crashes with Microcode SW error detected
Hi Storm, I'd suggest to first try installing linux-backports-modules-jaunty to see if it helps. It contains and updated compat-wireless stack. If it's still an issue, I'd be inclined to mark this as a duplicate of bug 200509. Care to take a look and confirm?
